For a perfect day in Paris, here are a few of our favorite places to visit. Each one represents a little piece of the city we love and always find ourselves coming back to time and time again - from lingering lunches and memorable dinners to a beautiful afternoon spent wandering, shopping, or simply taking in the magic of Paris. We hope you enjoy discovering a few of these special places while in Paris for our wedding!
We return to this timeless, chic brasserie whenever we are in Paris; it feels wonderfully classic, intimate, and unmistakably Parisian. The filet mignon au poivre is always a favorite of ours.
With its frescoed walls and crystal chandeliers, Café Antonia at Le Bristol is one of our favorite elegant places to pause for coffee, a drink, or a light bite. Be sure to order the pain perdu, which is a decadent French-toast treat worth lingering over.
Set beside the Musée des Arts Décoratifs with beautiful views of the Tuileries Garden, LouLou is one of our favorite spots for a stylish Paris lunch or dinner. Come for the lively atmosphere, Italian-inspired menu, and a long, leisurely meal in one of the city’s most beautiful settings.
L’Avenue is a lively, stylish brasserie just off Avenue Montaigne, known for its classic Parisian atmosphere and fashionable people-watching. It’s a fun choice for lunch, dinner, or drinks after a day exploring the nearby fashion houses and beautiful streets of the Golden Triangle.
Tucked away in the historic Galerie Vivienne, Caves Legrand is a beloved Parisian wine shop and tasting destination with an exceptional selection of French wines. It’s the perfect place to discover something special to bring home, but do yourself a favor and wind your way through the shop to the back. There you’ll find a charming little wine bar with just a handful of tables, where you can settle in and explore some of the best Burgundies the shop has to offer. It’s one of those wonderfully understated Paris experiences that feels like you’ve stumbled onto a secret.
A visit to La Grande Épicerie feels like wandering through the most beautiful gourmet pantry imaginable, filled with French cheeses, pastries, wine, and delicacies from around the world. We love picking up a few treats for an impromptu picnic, treats to bring home or simply exploring every delicious aisle.
One of the world’s most iconic flea markets, the Marché aux Puces is a treasure hunt through antiques, vintage fashion, art, furniture, and unexpected finds. Plan to spend a morning wandering its many market stalls to find treasures and one-of-a-kind souvenirs to bring home.
For anyone who loves fashion, design, or a little bit of Parisian glamour, La Galerie Dior is an unforgettable visit. The exhibition traces the history and artistry of the house of Dior through spectacular gowns, sketches, and beautifully immersive displays.
For an easy, flexible way to get around Paris, we recommend using Vélib’ Métropole, the city’s public bike-share system. This is one of our favorite ways to explore the city as it's easy to get from one neighborhood to the next and lets you take in the city at your own pace. Download the official Vélib’ app to find nearby stations, check e-bike availability, and purchase a short-term pass.
The Marais (3rd & 4th Arr.)
The Marais is one of our favorite neighborhoods for an afternoon of wandering. Its cobblestone streets are filled with beautiful boutiques, galleries, cafés, and hidden courtyards. Take your time exploring, stop for a coffee or glass of wine, and be sure to wander through Place des Vosges, one of the most charming squares in Paris.
Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6th Arr.)
Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a quintessentially Parisian neighborhood, perfect for a leisurely stroll of fabulous boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and historic streets. We love spending an afternoon here browsing and soaking in the timeless Left Bank charm.
The French Open will be taking place May 17 - June 6, bringing an extra buzz to Paris! If you’re a tennis fan, consider extending your trip to catch a match at the iconic Roland-Garros!
